Why Choose the OSSD Program?
The OSSD is a highly respected high school diploma issued by the Ministry of Education in Ontario, Canada. The Examination Department of Sri Lanka has recognized it as an equivalent to Advance Level. It is a flexible, student-centered program that emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and real-world application of knowledge. Students who complete the OSSD are well-prepared for university admission, with a comprehensive curriculum that includes a balance of academics, extracurricular activities, and essential life skills.
How is OSSD Structured?
You are required to take a total of six subjects, including English, provided you have achieved at least C, C, S/C, C, D passes in your local or London Advanced Level examinations.
The program is delivered on a modular basis, allowing you to focus on a few subjects each semester. Typically, students take 2-3 subjects per semester, but you have the flexibility to choose the number of subjects based on your study preferences and goals.

Assessment Structure
Most subjects follow a combined assessment model, with 70% coursework and 30% final exams. This means that staying on top of your assignments, projects, and homework throughout the year is essential for success.
Additionally, the program includes:
- Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT): Required if you are under 18 years old.
- Community Involvement Hours: A set number of approved community service hours if you are 18 or older, encouraging personal growth and social responsibility.

After A/Levels
Local (Sri-Lankan) Advanced Level or London (Cambridge/Edexcel) Advanced Level
Customized for students who are looking to meet the minimum A/Level requirement.
- CCC or above Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or (Mathematics).
After O/Levels
Local (Sri-Lankan) Advanced Level or London (Cambridge/Edexcel) Advanced Level
Customized for students looking at pathways other than Medicine
- Minimum 5 credit passes at G.C.E. O/L including Science, Mathematics & English
